Hailed as the "Best Cookin' Show Ever" in the New York Times!
In celebration of Blue Ridge PBS's 50th anniversary, we're bringing back classic episodes of the iconic program, Cookin' Cheap.
The comedy cooking show served up lots laughs to television audiences for 22 years. It was the brainchild of host, Laban Johnson, who teamed up with radio personality Larry Bly to cook up hundreds of recipes and a lot of humor.
The show was recorded live on tape in the studio of Blue Ridge PBS from 1980 to 2002 with occasional episodes being shot on location.
Cookin' Cheap returned to the airwaves during Winter Festival. A marathon is planned for New Year's Day and a regularly scheduled time slot starting in January. Check our TV Schedules for air times.
If you are a fan of the show, we have some great ways to say thank you when you make a pledge. Your donation is a vote for more local programming!
